What are Antioxidants?

2. Vitamins are man -made antioxidants which one needs to incorporate into a diet. They include Vitamin A, C, E, folic acid and beta-carotene.
3. Phytochemicals are naturally produced antioxidants found in plants which protects them against free radicals, that’s why plants remains safe during high exposure to sunlight as well.

All these are found in plant products including natural whole foods, such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.
Why Antioxidants are essential to us?
Degradation is a part of life. Whether humans or plants or any other living organism. Gradually it happens through a chemical process, leading to formation of free radicals and cell damage. To combat this nature has its own way of fighting by producing antioxidants which protects our body by using defence mechanism.
